IAC prepares for Anna's Aug 16 indefinite fast in B'lore

Bangalore, Aug 12: India Against Corruption (IAC)
and Corruption Saaku today said preparations for Anna Hazare's
August 16 indefinite hunger strike in support of Jan Lokpal
Bill were in full swing in Bangalore and other parts of
Karnataka.
Both IAC and Corruption Saaku have chalked out
cleaning up drives, bike rallies, 'lights out' protest and
'Awake, Arise And Stand Up For India' initiative to spread
awareness about Anna Hazare's movement against corruption.
On August 13, IAC and Corruption Saaku volunteers will
engage in cleaning drives around the city. "First of these
drives will be held in Yeshwantpur where volunteers will clean
up the market area there," social activisit Meenakshi Bharath
said.
"Daily bike rallies throughout Bangalore also will be
organised by volunteers," she added.
Bharath also urged people to participate in 'lights
out protest' on August 15 between 8 pm to 9 pm.
She further urged people to participate in 'Awake,
Arise And Stand Up For India' initiative on August 16. "I
request people to gather in a group of 5 to 500 or even more
to lend support to Anna Hazare's campaign and sing the
national anthem at 11 am," Bharath added.
She also said a small team of volunteers planned
walkathon from Bangalore to Delhi to spread awareness about
the campaign.
"Justice Santosh Hegde will flag off the walkathon on
August 17," walkathon organiser Ramesh Savanur said.
The All India Bank Officers Confederation, Karnataka
Rajya Raitha Sangha, Green Brigade and Federation of Karnataka
Chambers of Commerce and Industry have pledged their support
for Anna Hazare's movement, Savanur said.
