GM showcases electric 'Beat' in Bangalore

Bangalore, Nov 14: General Motors India showcased an
electric version of its small car, 'Beat' here today, as part
of a global demonstration of the technology.
"We are delighted that Chevrolet selected India as an
important market to test battery electric technology, while
recognising the capabilities of our engineering team to help
identify ways to make this technology more affordable," GMI
President and MD Karl Slym told reporters here.
The electric Beat is powered by a lithium-ion battery and
can cover at least 130 km after a single charge under normal
driving conditions, he said.
GM is committed to delivering customers around the world
with electrification solution, Slym said, adding the company
would showcase the technology in other countries such as
Korea, China and Germany.
GM India is already offering a range of alternate fuel
vehicles including Chevorolet Beat, Chevorolet Spark LPG and
Chevorolet Aveo CNG to its customers, Slym said.
