Manipal (Karnataka), Nov 12: Terming the agitation
against Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant as "unfortunate",
former Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar today
asked the protestors not to link the issue with Fukushima
Nuclear disaster in Japan.
"To link Koodankulam Plant controversy to Fukushima is
uncalled for. It was Tsunami which destroyed Fukushima nuclear
plant, not technical glitches in reactors," Kakodkar said.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating Innovation
Centre and Manipal University Technology Business Incubator at
Manipal University here, he asked the agitators not to panic
over safety issues and said the KNPP had state-of-the-art
features and was a great boon to the future generation.
