Bangalore, Nov 14: The five-day, environment, business
and research delegation meetorganised by European Business and
Technology Centre (EBTC) along with Bangalore Chamber of
Industry and Commerce (BCIC), kickstared here today.
EBTC, for the first time, plans to bring succinct Indian
project and partnership opportunities in the environment
sector to the fore for EU companies, EBTC Director Poul V
Jensen told reporters here.
"We are pleased to see many EU-India relationships develop
and mature before the event, and we are now accompanying them
until the point of success," Jensen said.
Europe sees huge potential for environmental
technologies in domestic market as India's vast environmental
technology market is estimated to be at around 8 billion
pounds, Jensen said.
"With the demand for innovative technologies predicted to
increase, EU countries with their knowledge, expertise and
experience are starting to tap opportunities in Indian
market," he said.
Delegates from France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Portugal,
Spain and Sweden would also hold B2B talks with Indian
government, business and research officials to promote
environment-related technologies, Jensen said.
Companies such as Ciel et Terre, Techsub-Aquago, Global
Green, Jarven EcoTech, Aqua-Q AB, Gestamp Solar India and
Sintrol would present their technologies during the event,
he said.
The event would also witness signing of a MoU between
Bangalore-based energy and environment consultancy Enzen
Global Solutions and France-based Ciel et Terre, Jensen said.
"The tieup will pave way for setting up floating
photovoltaic projects in selected states of India," he said.
On November 15 and 16, the event would focus on Indian
project opportunities in public and private sectors, Jensen
said.
As a bridge between business, research and government, EBTC
is working closely with Karnataka and Central governments to
introduce innovative EU clean technologies in India, he said.
Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Agency, Karnataka
State Pollution Control Board, Bangalore Water Supply and
Sewerage Board and Bangalore Development Authority among
others have shown keen interest to participate in the event.
