Bangalore, Oct 5: India batsman Virat Kohli hurt his left thumb while fielding but there was no sign of pain as he guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to the semi-final with 36-ball 70 against South Australia Redbacks on Wednesday.
Kohli made a diving effort while trying to save a boundary in the 17th over of South Australia's innings. He failed to stop the ball, hit by Daniel Harris off the bowling of Dirk Nannes, and in the process injured his left thumb.
Kohli, who has been named in the squad for India's five-match home ODI series against England starting October 14, left the field and was seen getting some ice treatment on his swollen left thumb from coach Ray Jennings at the sidelines.
Several top players, including Sachin Tendulkar, have been omitted from the Indian squad for the ODI series against England due to injuries.
