Bangalore, Oct 10: A Lokayukta special court Monday adjourned to October 26 the disproportionate asset case against HD Balakrishna Gowda, the eldest son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, after Lok Ayukta police sought time to file its investigation report.
Judge NK Sudhindra Rao rapped the Lok Ayukta investigating officer for not filing the report and directed him to file the same without fail by October 26.
Gowda is facing charges of possessing Rs70 crore as disproportionate asset to his known sources of income when he took voluntary retirement from the government service. It is currently valued at Rs500 crore.
The Judge on September 24 had directed Lok Ayukta police to investigate the complaint and file a report today.
SN Balakrishna, retired assistant manager of the state run Visveswarayya Iron and Steel in his September 22 complaint, had charged Balakrishna Gowda with possessing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income and prayed for action under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
