Bellary, Oct 4: Continuing their raids for the second consecutive day, CBI conducted searches on Kudligi BJP MLA V. Nagendra’s mining company, another in Hospet and Bellary in connection with alleged illegal mining.
The agency also raided the Regional transport office here, sources said.
CBI claimed they had seized some documents from Nagappa’s company and ILC Somasekhar Mining Trade in Hospet and also raided Yogendranath Mining Company in Bellary.
They also sought some information from officials at Jindal Steel Works, which was raided yesterday. JSW had however denied that such raids had taken place.
Sources said the agency had yesterday seized computer hard discs and a gun, besides some documents pertaining to mining transactions from Mr. Nagendra’s residence.
Meanwhile, police in Bellary today filed an FIR against Mr. Nagendra in connection with possessing an unlicensed gun.
Earlier, police suspended Mr. Nagendra’s gunman for dereliction of duty as he had allegedly kept the gun in the legislator’s house, which was seized by CBI in yesterday’s raids, sources said.
