Bangalore, Oct 3: The relay fast by Bosch workers at Adugodi plant, protesting against the decision of the company to outsource manufacturing of some products, entered the second day on Monday.
Members of MICO Employees' Association on Monday met Union Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge and appraised him about outsourcing issue and "illegal" shutdown of the company, MEA Executive Committee Member Raghavendra said.
Raghavendra also said he had a meeting with Karnataka Law Minister S Suresh Kumar and Labour Minister B N Bache Gowda and held discussions on the issue. "Both ministers and Kharge have promised to look into the matter," he said.
MEA is likely to intensify the strike if nothing fructifies in a conciliation meet scheduled to be held on Tuesday between Karnataka Labour Commissioner, Bosch Management and employees association, Raghavendra said.
Earlier MEA had decided to intensify the strike after the management failed to attend a meeting convened last Friday between Karnataka Labour Commissioner, Bosch management and the employees association.
Raghavendra said five workers would observe fast on each day demanding stoppage of outsourcing. If the management failed to solve the issue, the workers would go on a 'mass hunger strike', he added.
